AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE IV “STREETS”, CHAPTER 1 “TRAFFIC CODE”, TO PROHIBIT PARKING OF SEMI-TRUCKS AND OTHER LARGE VEHICLES ON CITY STREETS OR ON RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY.
BE IT ORDAINED
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SECTION 1. That Title IV “Streets” of the
Code of Ordinances of the City of
Section 30. Stopping, standing or parking prohibited. No person shall stop, stand or park a
vehicle except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in
compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic control sign or
device in any of the following places:
1. In any public alley within
the fire limits of this City.
2. In any private alley within
the fire limits of this City in such a manner that ingress or egress of fire
apparatus to and from such alley might be blocked.
3. Within 35 feet of a
crosswalk at an intersection.
4. Upon any street within the
corporate limits when snow or ice removal is necessary.
5. On the center parkway or
dividing area of any divided street.
6. Within 20 feet on either
side of a mailbox which is so equipped so as to permit the depositing of mail
from vehicles on the roadway.
7.
Trucks
weighing 9 tons or more, including semi-trucks, whether connected to a trailer
or otherwise, loaded or empty, shall not be parked on streets of the City
except for the purpose of loading or unloading.
8. Trucks weighing 9
tons or more, including semi-trucks, whether connected to a trailer or
otherwise, loaded or empty, shall not be parked on private property within a
residential district within the City.
